Marsha K Sorenson, O.D. FAAO FCOVD has joined the Visual Symptoms Treatment Center. Dr. Sorenson graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she was awarded the COVD Excellence in Vision Therapy Award, and the Luckhardt Memorial Scholarship. After graduating she completed the prestigious Irwin B Suchoff Residency program in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at SUNY State College of Optometry in New York City. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Dr. Sorenson specializes in pediatric optometry, developmental vision, and neuro-optometry. She is passionate about helping patients reach their maximum visual potential.
Dr. Sorenson has served as a clinical instructor at the Illinois College of Optometry for the past 5 years, teaching students about developmental vision, pediatric eye exams, vision therapy, and visual perceptual testing. Dr. Sorenson also works at Chicago Dizziness and Hearing Clinic, where she provides neuro-optometry services for patients with vestibular disorders and brain injuries. She has published a journal article about recent research supporting a vision therapy-based treatment model for amblyopia. She has presented posters at recent COVD and American Academy of Optometry Meetings. She is an active contributor to the COVD blog.
